Three pianos, a dragon with a dog - you will chuckle.

Acts that are likely to make you and your guests/colleagues laugh follow.
The only down-side is that they are not budget priced but, having fallen asleep at a comedy club last week during  showtime, that down-side is perhaps worth taking the financial hit.
OK, bearing the above in mind; for "principles" only therefore - are you game for a laugh?

My lords, ladies, gentlemen and distinguished prospective clients we are delighted to present:
Duelling Pianos

You will have to fly them in from the States, put them up in a nice hotel, organise two pianos and a drum kit for  them.
Put them on a stage in a room full of people and watch the fun engulf the place.
There will be lots of showmanship and masses of audience participation - whats not to like?

The next treat came to mass public awareness via ITV's Britain's Got Talent.
That is not an excuse to grimace - no sirs; in this case its a good reason to smile (even laugh perhaps).
It is with pride and pleasure we present:
Kev Orkian

This is the third piano player on offer. He is, another brilliant musician. His comedy is in a way classic, that is, classic and clever, yet silly, stopping short of slapstick. Clever people love his work. Not-so clever people think he is hilarious - we are a approaching a "win-win" situation when entertaining a room full of people with widely differing academic capabilities.
(The Financial Director laughed as much as young Derek from internal post - someone said, after a corporate do where Kev Orkian entertained.)

And now for something so ridiculous, not even the name of the act fully prepares one.
Please view the work of:
Piff the Magic Dragon

Its silly, ridiculous and would be embarrassing to watch if it wasn't so clever and funny.
Piff has obviously taken a long look at the late great Tommy Cooper's work and has made a very good attempt at modernising it and making it better for the current time frame.
Words can not describe what you get on a night out watching Piff and his little dog entertaining you. Watch the video and make a judgement for yourself.

Now the above, although worth every penny, are fairly pricey to book but good news readers, I have some talented moderately priced alternatives for your cabaret slots - all you have to do is ask.

Feel free to contact me with questions/ideas on event entertainment.
I am particularly interested in getting ideas across via social media, if you want to talk about that.

Bye.

Reduce your workload - book an inclusive show

You have a group of people and event entertainment to organise.
Why not hire a package that incorporates all the entertainment, as well as providing "something fresh & different".
The packages I am about to recommend have a very high audience participation factor.
All you need do as the organiser is get people to attend.
If you can encourage people to dress up to follow the theme of the package, then added atmosphere will result but that is not essential.

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical is the most successful Australian
musical of all time having already been seen by almost 2 million people.

Priscilla is a heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who
hop aboard a battered old bus  (nicknamed Priscilla) searching for love
and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed.

You can book a show with 3 Divas singing the hits from the show.

The music from the show is mainly classic disco hits - music that lends itself to dancing.
My daughter, Olivia, is in the cast of the current West End show, and having seen the show I can vouch for the positive effect the music has on the audience.
With this package you get a slice of a quality show at your venue or party or corporate event.

The hits from the show include:

Downtown

I’ve Never Been To Me
What’s Love Got To Do With It?
Don’t Leave Me This Way
Venus
Go West
I Say A Little Prayer
I Love The Nightlife
Both Sides Now
Follie! Delirio Vano E Quoesto!…Sempre Libera (from Verdi’s La Traviata)
Colour My World
I Will Survive
Thank God I’m A Country Boy
A Fine Romance
Shake Your Groovy Thing
Pop Muzik
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Hot Stuff
MacArthur Park
Boogie Wonderland
Come into My World
Always On My Mind
Kylie Medley
We Belong
Finally

Another package show is the Rocky Horror show.
Half a dozen actors with strong vocal abilities perform hits from the stage show.

If one were to ask a random sample of a group of men if they had every worn a bask, push-up bra and stockings with suspender belt in public, a large proportion would say yes.
If one were to ask those men, who admitted they had worn this type clothing - why they had done so. The likely answer would be; to dress up to see a Rocky Horror Show concert.
Guys do that sort of thing for Rocky Horror and its allowed.
You can put on a Rocky Horror cabaret at your event by just booking the package show and giving attendees the option to dress up.

There are other package shows available.
A very nice show that has a lot of female appeal is the Kylie Show:

http://www.the-kylie-show.webs.com/

This package includes most of Kylie's hits and lots of costume changes. Its a 80's/90's music fest that will the audience doing the conga to the "Locomotion" and "spinning around" with glee.

For more high brow audiences, package shows offering stimulating opera arias before and after dinner are an option.
If you want the superb singing and a laugh as well, you can have:
singing waiters, singing chefs, singing firemen, singing barmaids and other variations.
These too come as a package where you, as an organiser, have minimal workload and maximum kudos.

Cost Effective Celebrity Attendance at your special event

So you have decided to have a big party.
You are going to put cost worries aside and go for it!
Must have's include super food, lots of nice drinks, a fab venue or decorated marquee and special entertainment.
Then you think.................why not have someone famous to entertain.
You decide who you would like and start to look around to find the cost.
Very quickly you find that the likes of Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Take That and Justin Bieber are almost unbookable due to massive cost.
You take stock and attempt to aim a little lower down the popularity pole.
Inevitably you end up at 80's chart toppers e.g. Real Thing, Human League and Duran Duran etc.
These acts are very good but the cost can cause many concern, even though they are worth it.

An easy way to have a celebrity - that everyone at your event knows - is to use Celebrity DJ's,
TV Talent show stars or Reality TV show stars.

For very reasonable money you can have a star like Kitty Brucknell at your event. (See X-Factor Video clip).

Danny from McFly will appear at your event as a Celebrity DJ, he will play tunes for your guests to dance to and sing over the McFly hits for a modest fee. (Danny is the lead singer in the video clip).

The drummer from McFly, Harry Judd, is currently on Strictly Come Dancing.
The band that plays the music for the dancers in that show is available - they are perfect for large corporate events.

Major stars like Sophie Ellis Bextor will DJ with her husband (lead singer from the Feeling pop group).
A double whammy Celebrity DJ offering.

See the atmosphericspecialevents celebrity page for more ideas.

Without banging on about who you can get too much, the main point of this article is to point out that if you want to"push the boat out a bit" and ob-knob with the rich and famous - there is a budget way to do it. (Relatively speaking).

Cheers,

Lenny
